Fritjof Hohagen

… is, as writer-producer, the creative force at enigma film which he founded in 2005.
He had completed a course of study in literature and film science in Berlin and Munich before working as a feature film producer for Odeon Film from 2000 to 2004, being involved in several international productions such as RABBIT PROOF FENCE by Philip Noyce starring Kenneth Branagh, Clare Peploe’s historical comedy THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE starring Ben Kingsley and Mira Sorvino or the black comedy BUFFALO SOLDIERS by Gregor Jordan starring Joaquin Phoenix, Scott Glenn and Ed Harris. For Odeon Fritjof also scripted and produced the comedy and German box-office success PURA VIDA IBIZA.
In 2004, he received the VGF Award for up-and-coming producers in Germany and used it to kick off with enigma film. Since then he produced or coproduced 10 feature films including the Swiss box-office hit THE BLACK BROTHERS (2014) directed by Academy Award winning director Xavier Koller and starring Moritz Bleibtreu (“Bader Meinhof Complex”), the film adaptation of Noble Price winner Elie Wiesel’s novel DAWN (2014) starring Jason Isaacs (“Fury”, “Harry Potter”), the German box-office success RUN FOR YOUR LIFE (2008) with Max Riemelt (“Sense 8”), or the desert drama FATA MORGANA (2007) starring German shooting star Matthias Schweighöfer (“Valkyrie”, “Friendship”) next to cult star Jean-Hugues Anglade (“Betty Blue”, “Nikita”, “Braquo”) and winning the renowned “New German Cinema Award”.
Most recently, enigma film completed the TV-Event-Movie UNDER THE RADAR (2015) about a fictious islamist bomb attack in Berlin which had very high ratings and is being nominated for Best European TV-Movie” at Prix Europa 2015. The historical feature film HANNA’S SLEEPING DOGS by Andreas Gruber, starring German acting legend Hannelore Elsner (“Cherry Blossoms”) about a Jewish family in post-war Austria, will be released in spring 2016.

 

Amir Harel, Lama Films

… after having begun his professional career as film editor back in late 80’s, Amir produced his first film, “The Square of Dreams”, in 1999, in a collaboration with the late film producer Haim Manor. A year later, he initiated Lama films as a self-owned company. Since then Amirl led his way picking his projects thoughtfully and carefully, keeping long-term collaborations with directors, screenwriters and film-editors, as well as production companies from around the world.

Located in Tel Aviv, Lama Films is one of the leading production companies in Israel, concentrating on social-, political- and cultural-oriented projects. Since the turn of the millenium, Lama films produced a line of internationally acclaimed and successful films, thus established itself as a major production company in the local scene, as well as a first-choice addressee for production companies from around the world, who seek co-productions in the Middle-East. Whether documentaries or fiction films, Lama Films’ productions address phenomena that refect the essence of Israeli existence, yet still appeal to diverse audiences around the world.
